7 HAIR MISTAKES YOU SHOULD AVOID
The daily hair care routine is one of the things that matters most when it comes to achieving healthy hair with lots of shine and volume. Yet it is here we make the most mistakes. Read along and learn how to avoid the most common hair care mistakes.
1. 1. DO YOU REMEMBER TO CARE OF YOUR SCALP?
Beautiful hair starts with a healthy scalp. Dry, dull, thin and greasy hair with split ends is often caused by an imbalance in the scalp. It may be residue of hair products preventing the scalp from breathing. Give your scalp an occasional detox treatment – either at home or in the salon.
2. DO YOU USE TOO LITTLE – OR TOO MUCH – CONDITIONER?
The hot water from the shower opens the outer layer of the hairs. An opened strand of hair is weak and makes the hair look dry and dull. Conditioner closes the hair shaft and ensures that nutrients are sealed so your hair becomes soft, smooth and strong. Conditioner is important – but use the right amount. Too much conditioner can make the hair look heavy.
If you are too busy to use conditioner, choose our 2-in-1 Treatment Shampoo no. 16.A wonderful shampoo with conditioner effect made on rasul clay from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, with a heavenly caramel scent. Mhm …
3. DO YOU KNOW YOUR BLOW-DRYING?
Wet hair is more fragile than dry hair, and heat is one of the most destructive things for the hair. Therefore, it’s a good idea to let your hair air dry a bit – for 5 to 10 minutes – before using the blow-dryer.
Let your hair air dry on days where you have time for it – it is good for both your hair and the environment.
ZENZ Organic shampoos and conditioners are rich on natural oils that help protect your hair from heat. Several of our styling products contain silk protein – an ingredient that cares for your hair and helps take care of it when you use styling styling tools.
Try the ZENZ Organic Hair Styling Mousse no. 90. Distribute a little mousse in the palm of your hand and massage the product into towel-dried hair to provide moisture and volume.
4. WHERE DOES YOUR PONYTAIL SIT?
If you make your ponytail on the same spot everyday, the elastic wears on your hair. Experiment with the placement and choose a gentle elastic without metal.
5. DOES YOUR STRAIGHTENING IRON NEED CLEANSING?
A hair straightener should slide easily down over your hair. Failure to do so may be due to burnt hair residue. You can clean the cold straightener with a little alcohol – and wupti, it's ready again.
A quality hair straightener with good heat distribution and the ability to set the temperature is more gentle on your hair.
6. ARE YOU USING THE RIGHT PRODUCTS?
Styling products must suit both your hair type and hairstyle. If styling is difficult, it may well be that the products are not suitable for you. Remember that you can always ask your hairdresser for advice.
7. ARE YOU POSTPONING YOUR HAIRCUT?
You can do a lot to prevent split ends, but a regular trip to the hairdresser is the absolute best way to keep your hair healthy and neat.
